Gary A. Rehberg, 69, of Belvidere, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday afternoon, May 21, 2026.
Born on February 12, 1957, in Chicago, Gary was one of ten children born to the late Herman W. and Arlene H. (née Brozny) Rehberg. He was raised in the Dundee-Carpentersville area and graduated from Irving Crown High School in 1975. Gary dedicated many years to Comcast, where he was known as a loyal and dependable employee before retiring.
Gary found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time in his garden, relaxing with a fishing pole in hand, and cheering on his beloved Green Bay Packers. More than anything, Gary treasured the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and happiness.
He is lovingly survived by his daughter, Corrine (Austin) Owens, and by his three cherished grandchildren, Noralee, Ayla, and Rylan, whom he adored beyond measure. He is also survived by his siblings: Steve (Savina) Rehberg, Tom Rehberg, Mark Rehberg, Kim (the late John) Strawcutter, Scott (Jenny) Rehberg, Tracy (Brian) Donnor, and Kurt Rehberg, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence “Larry” Rehberg, and his sister, Christine Buck.
