Our Story

Welcome To C’ville

I grew up in Carpentersville between 1963 and 1975, and attended elementary school, middle school and high school there.  I’ve never had a copy of any yearbooks so I wrote to the school district and asked if any were still available.   After some time and a little hunting they found three yearbooks for me from; 1975, 1976 and 1977.

I thought there must be other people that would like to see the yearbooks too and many people that either never owned one or lost theirs over the years.  In addition, after my parents passed away, I was looking through old photographs and other items and thought that they would be additionally worthwhile to share with others.  So I started this web site in 2005 to share what I had aquired with others that would be as excited to see them as I was.   My Mom had also left me a box full of stuff from my childhood, lots of things from Carpentersville too, many of those items have been added to this site.

After the site was up and running for a few months people started contacting me asking if they could donate yearbooks and photos.  So the whole thing started with a few items that I wanted to share and has grown to include many items that many people wanted to share.  This site is about a wonderful time, in a great town that people still look back on with many happy memories.  It will continue to grow as long as the memories of Carpentersville in the early days still exist.  So with 1000’s of hours of scanning books and images the site has grown to many 1000’s of images and video files and continues to grow on a weekly basis.  I have since added a button and form to make it easy for people to donate photos.

Thanks for visiting, I hope you truly enjoy your time here and that we bring back memories that you didn’t know you had.
